Student Discussion Boards

Posted by sunnywilliams on January 21, 2007

Students,
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your responses to your teachers’ discussion boards. I go from laughing at your obvious humor to being totally amazed by the deepness of your thoughts. I can tell by the time listed when you post, and I have to say that it thrills me to see you posting as soon as you get home and later into the evening and even on weekends. This is a great example of work that is engaging for students. It isn’t the computer that makes it engaging, but the “conversation” you are able to have with your peers and teachers. Keep up the good work!

I am in Mrs.McGuyer’s newspaper class. We have a wiki and she has a blog. I like to be able to respond to people’s comments.

I am glad you like the newspaper so much. I like the newspaper too. I like how everone works so hard on the newspaper everyday. It is so cool that you have looked into the Husky Pawper. Thank you so much for your support.

Yes, I think that it is a great way to communicate with our teachers, class mates, and you. I love useing computers and thinkthat it is a great way of learning.

Hey Dr. Williams I just want to comment about this whole homework remediation thing.I dont think that tis should have to be inforced. When ever we dont turn in homework we get detention. This may conflict with our afterschool schedules. So ive never had homework remediation but im just saying.

I think the discussion boards are a great way to communicate with everyone at school and all people in trussville. Plus most people love to be on computers, instead of writing all day, so it gives us a break!

I think discussin boards are a very good way to tell teachers things about activities we do in classes so we can tel them if we like it or not.

    Dear Dr. Williams,
I think that having blogs is a great way to communicate and to express our feelings. Since there wasnt a blog about this I just wanted to add that there are a lot of people in my grade you like to make fun of people because of there skin color, the way they dress, the way that they think, ect. But i just wanted to say that I am also meda fun of and picked on too. And Ive seen other people treated the same why. And it really hurts to be made fun of because of the way you look,or ect. And I think that we should as a whole school try to stop it. Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Pareasa
