Next week the high school’s career tech department is having an open house to showcase different courses that high school students might take. What I want to know is what do you want to do when you grow up? Also, tell me what you think you need to do to reach your goal.

Right now I want to be vet when I grow up. I think that the high school should have an elective where you can learn about animals and study them. I know that we have mairine biology there but it is not the same. I think we should have an elective would teach us about our pets (ancestry, health, about the body, ect.). I hope that we have an elective like that by the time I am in high school. Thanks for reading!!!

Right now I would love to be a either a fourth grade teacher or a designer. Even though Im in the sixth grade I still love to play with my sister and she will be the student and I will be the teacher. Plus its fun to teach my little sister something new. Whenever I teach her something new she goes and tells everyone. And that way she’s ahead of everyone else. Sometimes I even read teacher books that are made especially for teachers. And since I would love to be a designer my dad is going to buy me a softwear so I can design rooms.I think that thats a great way to acheive my dreams. For me to reach my goals I will have to finish college and beleive that I can do it. I will also have to take advice from my parents and my friends and other people who care about my future. I want to be an athletic trainer when i get older and i think we should have an elective that lets us learn about the injuries that can occur in sports and how they can be helped.

I would like to be a game designer. To be able to work with computers. I know a lot about computer already. I would like to take all the courses at the high school. I think you need to set a high goal for stuff you do.

I always wanted to be a video game developer. It’s something I have always wanted to do. It’s just something that comes natural to me. It’s a very high standard, but I have high expectations. I have already designed two games. They are games me and my bro play. They are called RPGs, or role playing games. It’s rather fun once you got the buttons. It’s just always been a dream of mine.

Right now I want to be a Photographer. I can’t remember a time when I have wanted to be anything else. To become what I want I think I must take classes in highschool and then go to college somewhere that I could get a degree in visual arts.

When I grow up and step into the real world I would like to become either an architect or a civil engineer. The reason why is because I’ve always wanted to build house, buildings and much more.

I won’t to be a vender and that is also an occupation that was put on my carrer cruising. What carrer cruising is a website. It shows you what job fits you best. I think it is a great tool to use on the computer because we need to start thinking about what we want to be later in life and to learn what you will have to dill with in your job.

Right now I would like to be in the coast guard because my father was in it and it has always inspired me to follow in his foot steps. If I want to be in the coast guard I need to learn about law and government. The question is do they teach any law or government about the coast guard? I know I’ll get better by doing that and getting my Dad to help me. Maybe it will help me a lot more!!

When I get older I want to be an animator because I like to draw a lot and it inspires me to do better and better. Well, in my computer class we are doing things about an occupation that we would be enterested in. So in my occupoation I have to have a portfolio of animations that I do. And I also have to take as many visual art courses as possible with the work I create. And then after High School I got to obtain a post-secondary training through animation.

I really want to play pro sports but I am to short for 1 and I dont like to be away from home alot. What I chose as my backup plan is a Chiropractor. I love science and I love working with people!

Well as you know in Mrs. Young’s Business Tech. class we’ve been researching different career choices on careercruising.com so i think most of the students that have her class know what they want to be. My career was a Model and I like that so if we could have a Fashion class that would be nice for people who want to study fashion.

I want to be a General Contractor when I grow up. I need to continue in school. I will have to get a bachelor degree in Building Science or Civil Engineering. I plan doing this at Auburn University.

When I grow up I want to be an Computer Engineer. I would like to go to UCLA and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in UCLA. I want to become an Computer Engineer because I want to study computers and I would also like to develope a way to make computers easier for everybody to use. Even with disorders. So this is a really a big dream to me and I really want to reach it.

I would really like to do something that involves Forensics or Computer. I have always wanted to do something in special effects. But forensics has really interested me. Just which ever would be more easy to accommodate into school.

Hey Dr. Williams! When I grow up, I’d like to be an art and music therapist. To do this, I would need to take art, band, and psycology in high school. Then I would need to get a bachelor’s degree in art or music therapy. Once I got my certifications, I’d be ready to go. Thank you for caring about your students and our futures!

Well right now I want to be an animal caretaker. I would be happy if we have classes that you can learn how to take care of the animals like horses, cows, goats, pigs. Something you don’t normaly take care of when you are a child like cats, dogs,ect. Learn what to feed them, what we should do if they were hurt, how we should groom them, stuff like that. What I want to be when I grow up right now is a meteorologist. I like watching the weather on TV and whenever a weather alert comes on the local TV stations, I have to watch it. What I think I need to do to achieve my goal is to go to a four year University and study meteorology or atmospheric science.

In Mrs.Youngs class we just finished up career cruising.It nerrows down occpations that fits your. The oppupation that I would like to go into is Mechanical Engineering.With The new classes at the high school with computer design I would get a head start In Engineering.

In Mrs. Young’s class, we have been using the Career Cruising website to get an idea of what we want to be. The website helped me decide that I want to be a Physical Therapist. We took survays and all of the information we needed was on the website. I now know that if I am going to be a Physical Therapist, then I am going to have to go through about eight years of collage.

When I grow up I would like to be a lawyer. I need the best eduaction that I can get if I want to be a lawyer, which I think I can get at Hewitt. Not only do I want to be a lawyer in Mrs. Young’s class we have been taking quizzes to show what jobs we show interest in. Over half of the top ten things that career crusing wedsite polled up for me were on either being a lawyer or studing about law. I was very grateful that we got to go online an see what our interests really were. It showed me how interested I am in becoming a lawyer.

Right now I would like to be a Special Effects Techncian because in computer class we have been learning about what would be our best occupation, and that is the best suited job for me. My goals are to go to a 4 year college right after I finish high school and study something that will help me do that job.

I want to be a Neurologist when I get older. So I would have to take many medical courses and possibly science courses. My goals to achieve this career would be that I wou have to go through 8 years of college(4 years for Doctor of Medicine and then 4 years for my PhD). So I thinkn we should have a class that focuses on only medical situations or issues. Thanks For Reading!

In Mrs. Young’s computer class, we have done things with a program called career cruising. While testing on career cruising I came up with the results that I should be an Entrepreneur, which is what I’ve always wanted to do. To be an entrepreneur I have to learn better habits, I am smart when I want to be, but I am extremely lazy.

I really want to be a dentist when I grow up. Because I respect what they do to keep my teeth healthy at all times and I wouldn’t mind maybe doing it for them when they retire, and just also doing it for others. I also want to be a dentist because I wanted to be a docter(surgent) but, I changed my mind because of all the cutting open that’s involved and seeing people in pain. But, what I wouldn’t mind is helping out with nursing babies after birth. Maybe I could take that up as a part-time job like my aunt does on Fridays and some Saturdays and Sundays. But, in order to do all these things I must go to college, earn my degree and come out to be all I can be. Because I know I’m worth it.

Right now, I want to be a surgeon when I grow up. I don’t know where I want to go to college, but I want to go to Medical School at UAB. I would love to have the knowledge to save people’s lives and I think that the human body is fascinating and we still have a lot to learn about it. Right now i would really love to be a lawyer. I mainly want to a lawyer becasue I am very interested in law and how it all works. You also have to work with people. I think mabey we should have some classes that is all based on law, and people skills. I think that would also benifit you in other ways, not just when you get older. For me to become a lawyer, i would have to finish college and earn a bachelors degree, and then attend a law school. Some law schools require you to earn a JD. I would also have to do good in school, and make good grades.

I want to become a pharmacist when i get older. In order to become a pharmacist you have threw tons of chemistry and biolagy. You also have to have a PHd. You have to work very hard to get where you want to go. So if you want something then persiue it and go for it!

When I grow up I would like to be an anastheologist. In order to reach my goal, I need to work very hard in school. I also need to go to college after I graduate high school. I will need to do alot of studying about anastheologists and also about other people in the medical field, since I would be working with them.

When I am older, I would like to be a dirctor. I have always been interested in this occupation because, I love movies, and also, when it comes to group projects, I like to be the one in charge, so that I can make sure everything is done. I think the school should provide more visual and dramatic arts courses for students who would like to persue a career such as mine. Students who would not be able to participate in the school plays when they are in highschool. I hope the school will consider this.

In computer we just completed a topic about careers and jobs for our future. I made my slide show on kinesiology. I had never heard of it before until it showed up on my career suggestions after I took a test so, I went and investigated it. It turned out that I really was interested in that job. For this job you must learn about the science of the human body to improve sports, work or daily life injuries. It’s kind of like a physical trainer and a physical therapist combined.

Currently, we have been doing a career project in computer class, and I have been doing a slide show on marine biology. I have wanted to be a marine biologist for a while, but I kind of want to be a firefighter, or a restaurant owner. If I continue my dream of becoming a marine biologist, then I need to take the basic classes, plus biology, and health science. I need to get a PhD at the University of Alabama in marine biology, to be able to be the best marine biologist I can be. Also if I get a PhD, I will get a lot more money, then if I just got a bachelor’s degree.

I would like to be a computer engineer because I am good with computers and they make good money. After high school I plan to attend the University of Alabama and major in General Computer Engineering. I think we should have a computer engineering class at the high school that is different than a regular computer class so that people would know how to make the hardware or software and not just know about how to use them. I also think there should be other engineering classes at the high school other than computer engineering. Thanks for reading my suggestions.

I would like to be a Theoretical Physicist when I grow up. To reach this goal, I think I will need to get my Bachelors and Graduate in Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and get my PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Prineton University.

I want to be a Veternarian when I get older, maybe it could help us in school by us learining more about the occupation we want to be. If you want to be a veterinarian then you have to have a four year degree in college then another two years in medicine degree. So maybe we can learn about it early and get a head start for someone to show us what goes on in this job and what you’ll need to do to be a veternarian.

I want to be a chiropractor when i get older.To reach this goal i need to be able to take a vairity of classes in both high school and colledge that way i can become professionaly skilled at my work. Basic classes like English, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biology, Social Studies are of corse needed but hopefully other interesting classes have been added that have to somewhat do with the occupation I someday would like to do.

Ever since I was in kindergarden I have wanted to be a Kindergarden Teacher. I think I would love this job because I love to be around little kids, and I love to babysit which is basicly what you are doing. I think that I need some lessons on how to become a teacher of our grade choice. I think that one day at school we should be allowed to go and work like a student teacher by the side of another teacher that is teaching the grade that you would like to teach. I think that it would help us know if that is what we wanted to do. However, sometimes you would need some time at school to learn about that job, and what you would need to do on the job, and how you would be working, like we did in Mrs. Young’s technology class.

I plan to be an Anesthesiologist, it will take very hard work but i am willing to do everything i need to do. I will have to go to college for a long time, in order to be one. An Anesthesiologist is a person who makes patients surgery less painful.

When I grow up I want to be a Peditrician. I love working with kids and I would like to help them with any sicknesses or problems they have. I am planning to go to the University of Alabama to get a doctoral degree. Also, next year in high school I can start helping in real hospitals to experience what it is really like.

When I grow up, I’d like to be a surgeon. I know I’m going to have to go to a lot of school for this, but I still want to be one. I’ll have to go to the usual four years of college, and then I’ll have to pass the MCAT. After that, I’ll have to complete another four years of college to get my Doctor of Medicine degree (MD). Then, I’ll have to complete a surgery residency that will take up a minimum of 5 years. After all that, I’ll have to make a passing grade on the state licensing examination for specialists. After all this school, I’ll be able to be a surgeon!
